Meet our Naturopathic Doctors

Our clinic has 3 licensed naturopathic doctors with diverse experience to best serve a variety of patients. Our doctors are in good standing with the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) and the College of Naturopathic Doctors of Alberta (CNDA). Each of our doctors has undergraduate training with a vast background in the sciences in addition to a naturopathic doctorate.

Each doctor will provide effective holistic and individualized care. Our goal together is to find and address the underlying causes to your ailment and find the best solutions to get you back to a healthy and vibrant life again.

Dr. Lisa Clements, BSc. ND

Dr. Clements earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Guelph before completing her naturopathic doctorate.

She became passionate about naturopathic medicine after learning about its fundamental principles and philosophies. She believes that by finding the root cause of the problem, and giving tools specific to the individual, the body can restore balance and find health.

Dr. Clements enjoys teaching and feels that patients are empowered about their health when they fully understand their illness, as well as what it will take to heal. She enjoys being involved in the community and has given numerous lectures on many topics important to naturopathic medicine.

An empathetic listener, Dr. Clements aims to find solutions together with her patients. She has a general family practice, addressing all areas of concern.

Dr. Courtney Hall, BSc. ND

Dr. Courtney Hall is a licensed and registered Naturopathic Doctor, a graduate of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and a member of both the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors and College of Naturopathic Doctors of Alberta. She obtained her Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree with a major in Biology and a minor in Psychology (Behavioural Neuroscience) from Memorial University of Newfoundland.

Fueled by a love of nature and a passion for natural health care, she went on to complete her postgraduate studies at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, ON.

Dr. Courtney’s clinical background includes internships providing primary health care at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic as well as at the Sherbourne Health Centre in Toronto, ON. After graduation, Dr. Courtney started a family practice at two separate clinics in St. Catharines and Niagara Falls, ON where she continued learning from her mentors. While practicing in Ontario, she was also a member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors and was registered with the Board of Directors of Drugless Therapy - Naturopathy.

In the spring of 2013, she moved with her family to Red Deer, AB where she practiced at Red Deer Wellness Clinic. In May 2016, Dr. Courtney and her family moved to Sherwood Park, AB where she currently practices within Vital Health Naturopathic Clinic. In her general family practice, Dr. Courtney combines the art and science of natural medicine to treat a wide variety of health concerns and promote optimal health with her patients.

Dr. Courtney strives to continuously expand her knowledge by staying current with continuing education opportunities. She has a special interest in digestive issues, stress management, hormonal imbalances, skin conditions, immune health, fertility/healthy pregnancy, mind-body medicine, health education and preventative medicine.

Dr. Garry Schafer, ND

Dr. Schafer has been in practice for 40 years. During this time he has been able to help many people with arthritis, allergies, headaches, irritable bowel, cancer, autism, concussions etc. He has a keen interest to find the cause underlying a persons aches and pains, and to help them heal themselves.

He graduated from The National University of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon.

At this time, Dr. Schafer is not accepting new patients into his schedule. We are keeping patients who potentially want to see him on a waitlist if he decides to open his schedule to new patients again.
